Overall there is plenty of lighting outside the rooms and a gate surrounding the parking lot, and as a general rule, just be aware of your surroundings. My Uber driver wanted me to find another hotel and didn't think I'd find this place to be safe due to the motel-style room entrances being on the outside of the building.
The only bad part about this hotel would be the location. If I came back here to visit the strip, I would definitely consider bringing my own hotplate or something to cook on as there is the space for it. The kitchenette area has enough room for plenty of appliances but only has a mini fridge. Step inside Mardi Gras World and witness the creation of show-stopping floats, where artists and architects bring the festival. For example only 2 pillows, one chair, etc.
(Prices are cheaper online with promo code listed on their site) Yes it could be cleaner, and the amenities are not all there but it was great for me traveling alone. Way cheaper than any other room in the area, and a decent size room too.
For the price paid, this was worth every penny. I've paid to park my vehicle here a few times while flying from the airport and decided to get a room after a late flight this last trip.
